A night at the hotel

So it all started a few days before Comic-Con. I was looking for hotels near the convention but they were all awfully expensive. I finally found one that seemed a bit sketchy, but it was dirt cheap so I decided to just go for it even though it had not a single review, lol. I started driving and as I was getting closer to the hotel I realized something strange about the neighborhood. It all seemed very quiet, and even though I was only 30 minutes away from the convention I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere.

I finally arrived at the hotel at around 10 PM and entered the lobby. "Hello, I'd like to check in" I said to the receptionist. He looked at me for a few seconds, "sure" he said. "Well I paid for the room online" I said, as I gave him my credit card for confirmation. He paused for a few seconds, and then quickly grabbed my hand. "You don't want to" he said, looking straight at my eyes. "What are you talking about?", I replied. He was silent. After a few seconds he let go of my hand and proceeded to swipe my card, as if nothing ever happened. "Room 777" he said. "Um, okay, thanks" I replied. What a weirdo, I thought to myself, I took my luggage and walked to my room.

777, What a lucky number lol, I said to myself. I entered the room, it was surprisingly clean for a hotel this cheap. I zipped open my luggage and took out my favorite pajamas. I tucked myself inside the bed and closed the light. A few minutes passed by and for some reason I wasn't able to sleep. Hmm, must be because of my jet lag, I thought to myself. So instead I decided to have a drink at the hotel bar even though I was sure that it's going to be insanely expensive, like in literally every hotel. lo and behold, the cheapest drink was priced at $15, so instead I just asked for some cold water. The waitress nodded and walked away. A few minutes passed by and I still haven't received my water, I was starting to get a bit frustrated. How long does it take to get a cup of water? besides that, there was no one else here so what the hell is taking so long? I was just about to leave but then I saw something strange from outside the window, it looked like a big figure. It moved really fast though so I wasn't able to make anything of it.

Thinking nothing of it, I went back to browsing Twitter on my phone, hoping to get a small sense of pleasure out of a bunch of meaningless posts. This is what my life has become now, I'm nothing but a meager consumer, controlled by all the large companies, and led to believe that my life has any meaning but to feed more money to these corporate organizations. A few more minutes passed by and suddenly I heard the door open, I was focused on reading something so I didn't bother looking. Suddenly I felt an arm gripping my shoulder tightly, I quickly turned around in shock.

It was a tall man, his mouth was disfigured and he was wearing sunglasses and a strange red vest. Behind him were two women, one on each side, giggling. If they weren't there too I would've flipped out already. "What do you want?" I asked. No reply. He simply stared at me in silence. "Who's this guy? what's his problem?" I asked, trying to direct my question to the girls behind him. They stopped giggling. And began to stare at me too, with eyes wide open and with a blank, cold face. They looked soulless, they didn't even blink. I was starting to get concerned. After a long silence, the tall man turned around and looked at them, "come now" he whispered to them, and then proceeded to walk into the bathroom. Without any hesitation, they both followed him right inside.

I was creeped out at this point, who the hell is this guy? Why is he wearing sunglasses in the dark and why the hell are these two women following him into a bathroom? I decided to go have a look, after all I don't have much to lose, my life is pretty boring anyways. I went inside the bathroom and it was completely empty, the man, the two women, they were all gone. I went over to the sink and saw something strange. A Canon EOS 6D was just sitting there, and the lens were pointing right at the bathroom stalls. What the hell is going on? is this camera filming right now? I went to have a closer look. I picked up the camera and looked at the screen, a blinking red dot. This thing is on, what the hell? I clicked to see the photo history when suddenly, two hands grabbed my neck with a tight grip.

I struggled to breath and I started screaming. My body slammed into the floor. And there I saw him again, this tall man. Just as I was beginning to gain back my consciousness I suddenly got punched right in the face. Then again, and again until I started bleeding. I tried to fight back but I couldn't do anything, I was no match for this man, what the hell was I thinking trying to help these girls when I can't even defend myself. He stopped abruptly. He looked straight at me and slowly opened his mouth, but he didn't say a word. His mouth was now wide open and drool was starting to come out, I could barely move or speak so all I could do was just lay there and watch. He then proceeded to raise his hand closer to his face. He grabbed his sunglasses slowly and removed them. He had no eyes.

I nearly fainted. He had no eye sockets, and it looked like he placed skin on top of his sockets to cover the holes of his missing eyes. It was the most terrifying sight I have ever seen. Now I realized why he was wearing sunglasses in the dark. He stepped away and grabbed his camera. I tried desperately to move, but I couldn't. I was stuck there. He reached to his vest pocket and took something out, it was really bright. I was nearly blinded just by looking at it. He then carefully slid this strange object inside his camera, until it clicked. He reached to his pocket again and took out two sharp nails. "N..NO, STOP" I struggled to speak as his hand moved closer and closer to my eyes. I started shaking, "NOO, STOP IT, PLEASE. STOP!" I screamed. He took one of the nails and stuck it through my left eyelid. I fainted.

I woke up, but I still couldn't move. The man wasn't in sight anymore. I started thinking of the girls, where the hell did they go? why have I not heard a single word from them? I started hearing footsteps. I already recognized them by now, I knew he was getting closer. I tried to grab the sink and get up when suddenly I felt his foot slamming down my hand. I let out a loud scream. It was pointless, there is nothing I could do and there was no one there to help. My eyes were getting watery. I tried to blink, but I couldn't. My eyelids were stuck in place. The man grabbed his camera again, and pointed it at my face. He paused for a few seconds and then whispered: "You're mine". The camera flashed.

I was completely blinded for a few seconds, I knew whatever this thing was, it wasn't no ordinary camera. I felt like my entire brain has suddenly stopped working, and I started sweating rapidly. "Come now", he said to me. I was suddenly able to move. And for some reason, I felt inclined to follow his orders. I tried resisting it but I was unable to, my body quickly stood up by itself. The man started walking, I tried desperately to run but I couldn't. I could only follow him. He walked to the receptionist, and I followed. A small part of me recognized the receptionist, and I tried to scream for help. But I couldn't say a word. "Call all of them" the man said, speaking to the receptionist. The receptionist rang a bell, and all of a sudden I heard every door in the hotel open.

Suddenly, I was hearing hundreds of footsteps. Everyone in the Hotel started roaming down the hallway. They all began forming lines in unison. "How many have we got in our arena?" the man said. The receptionist looked at him for a second and then glanced straight at me "now, all of them". "Good", said the man. "And as always, inform me of any new bookings". "Certainly", replied the receptionist. "Great, we're halfway done with this neighborhood". "Girls?" the two women suddenly appeared out of the hallway and walked beside the man, back to their exact positions. They both looked straight at me and then began giggling uncontrollably.

I still couldn't say a single word. They kept and kept giggling. "Shh... come now", the man said to them. "It's a new day, we've got work to do". He turned around, walked to the front door and got out. The two women glanced at me again, this time in complete silence. I couldn't bear looking at them anymore but I couldn't shut my eyes. They looked at me, and both shed a tear. "Come now", the man said from outside the door. Without any further hesitation, the two women followed.
